We’re sad to say goodbye to Marlene Montañez. S We’re sad to say goodbye to Marlene Montañez. She has had a tremendous impact on our work, and we will miss her. We wish her nothing but the best on her next adventure and look forward to continuing to work with her in Long Beach.

The #COVID19 pandemic has disproportionately impa The #COVID19  pandemic has disproportionately impacted Black, Indigenous, & POC as they make up a large segment of essential workers forced to choose between their families’ health and economic survival. 

This year, we’re honoring the struggles of workers on the frontlines of the pandemic who keep our communities connected to the resources they need. We are committed to righting historical injustices and creating a work culture that protects workers.
No one should have to choose between putting food No one should have to choose between putting food on the table and their safety in the workplace. Protecting workers like Brooke who speak up about health concerns in the workplace from retaliation means being able to protect our entire community's health, stem future outbreaks, and recover from the pandemic.

Tomorrow, the L.A. County Board of Supervisors will discuss establishing a countywide anti-retaliation ordinance to protect workers who report public health violations in the workplace. It's crucial they hear from you.
