The Beth & Julia Meltzer Summer Internship Program
To honor two longtime supporters, LAANE established the Beth and Julia Meltzer Summer Internship Program in 2012. With annual donor support, LAANE now offers paid internship opportunities to young people of all economic levels in the fields of communications, community organizing, fundraising, law, and research in order to help jump-start their careers as social justice advocates. Since we began training interns, more than 150 people have completed our program and gone on to work for LAANE or on to rewarding careers with Los Angeles City Council, the Mayor’s Office of Los Angeles, the American Federation of Teachers, Community Coalition, Metro Transit Authority, Jobs to Move America, and many more.
Applications are closed for the 2023 Beth and Julia Meltzer Summer Internship Program. The program runs for eight weeks from June 12 to August 4, 24 hours per week, at $25/hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and do not need college experience. All positions require reliable transit. Interns must provide proof of vaccination and booster, and agree to follow LAANE’s COVID-19 policies while in the office. Interested applicants are encouraged to check back in early February 2024.
