Throughout our 27 year history, LAANE has made it a priority to train the next generation of social justice activists and leaders. Many interns have gone on to work for other progressive social justice organizations – some have even become campaign directors at LAANE. Others have careers in the labor movement or serve in leadership roles in local government.
We believe in fair wages for all workers, including students, which is why we created the Beth & Julia Meltzer Summer Internship Program, thanks to the generosity of Beth and Julia Meltzer.
With the annual support of private donors, LAANE offers expanded internship training opportunities in which young people can earn a good wage and continue their education by learning about:
- Community organizing
Applications for the 2021 Internship Program are now closed. Please check back in early 2022 for next year’s application.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are closely monitoring conditions to ensure the safety of our staff and incoming interns. Please note this internship may be done virtually or remotely with some in-person elements, depending on changing conditions by summer.
