Donor Advised Funds
Your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) dollars can help to create a new economy that works for everyone. If you are a DAF-holder, you can recommend a grant to LAANE using our federal tax ID: #95-4459427. What is a DAF?
A donor advised fund (DAF) operates like a philanthropic savings account. It provides you with an immediate tax benefit and allows you to support the work of nonprofit organizations as you choose.
Give from your IRA
If you are 70.5 years of age or older and you have a traditional IRA, you can make a tax-free Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to maximize your philanthropic impact. Donors do not have to take distributions out of their IRAs until they are 73, but can still make annual QCDs. Planned Giving
A planned gift is a lasting investment in LAANE, and establishes your legacy in this movement. Planned legacy gifts ensure that we can sustain our mission to support working families, now and for years to come. Planned gifts may also provide current or future tax benefits to you and your heirs.
Sample bequest language
The following illustrates sample bequest language for use in making a gift to Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy in your will or trust. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or the remainder after all other provisions are specified.
For an unrestricted gift that allows LAANE to determine how to use the funds based on the most pressing needs:
“I, _________ (insert full name), give to Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization currently located at 464 Lucas Ave, Ste 202, Los Angeles, CA 90017, Federal Tax ID #95-4459427, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”
To designate your gift for a particular purpose:
“I, _________ (insert full name), give to Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization currently located at 464 Lucas Ave, Ste 202, Los Angeles, CA 90017, Federal Tax ID #95-4459427, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property]. This gift should be used for _________ (state purpose) if and so long as the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy determines that the need exists. If the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy shall determine at the outset or at a later time that the need does not exist, or no longer exists or for some reason it is not possible (or prudent) to administer my gift as originally intended, then the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy may, in its sole and uncontrolled discretion, direct the use of my bequest for a purpose related as closely as possible to that stated above.”
