Time for something different.
Join us at LAANE’s annual City of Justice Awards, to be held virtually this year on Thursday, December 3.
For the last 17 years, the City of Justice Awards has attracted 1,000 attendees, among them national elected officials, labor leaders, philanthropists, entertainment executives, business owners and activists.
This year, we’re breaking the mold. With no physical limitations on the guest list, we are packing the virtual house, and we want you to be a part of the celebration.
What’s staying the same is our commitment to honoring outstanding leaders who are improving the lives of working families. Our 2020 honorees are actor / activist Tiffany Haddish, award-winning filmmaker, peacebuilder and donor-activist Abigail Disney and Chairman and CEO of Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation and philanthropist Peter Palandjian.
Our theme this year is “Essential Vision” which is exactly what we need to weather this crisis: a vision of our shared future, where the value of essential workers is recognized and uplifted. Emcee Adam Conover (creator and host of Adam Ruins Everything) and LAANE Executive Director Roxana Tynan will be highlighting the enormous contributions of essential workers and what we can all be doing to build a stronger, more inclusive economy.
Proceeds from the City of Justice Awards benefit LAANE, which The New York Times calls “one of the nation’s leading advocacy groups for low-wage workers.” LAANE has been in the forefront of protecting essential workers long before they received this designation, passing smart policies that have improved the lives of more than a million and a half people.
