Combining dynamic research, innovative public policy, and deep coalition organizing, LAANE promotes an economic approach based on good jobs, thriving communities, and a healthy environment. We also know that more work is needed to increase opportunities for Black, Latinx and other workers in communities where there is a disproportionate burden of income and environmental inequality.
Position Responsibilities: The Workforce Development Organizer will help develop “high road” job creation and job access strategies, meaningfully engage allies and partners, navigate the workforce development system, advocate for policies and programs, and build deeper understanding of the barriers workers face and potential pathways to good union jobs. Responsibilities include leadership on a California Workforce Development Board High Road Training Partnerships project related to union apprenticeships into LADWP positions. We are seeking a professional who will be able to work well with unions, community organizations, environmental and environmental justice groups, workforce development professionals, educational institutions, and public agencies.
